Frequently Asked Questions
- Why choose Martin Alvez Photography?
I have the experience and knowledge to create beautiful work and I will put every effort into taking photographs that you will love.
- What is your availability?
I work Monday through to Sunday so my availability is flexible. Weekends usually book up quickly, but I always do my best to be accommodating.
-What should I wear?
The colours and style of clothes will have an impact on the overall look of the photos. When you book, we will discuss the styles that you would like. Please feel free to discuss style options with me and in the case that you aren't sure what to wear I can always advise on clothing and accessory choices.
- How do I get the photos?
I'll email you a download link which will let you view the images from the shoot. Once you have selected the photos that you would like, you will be able to download them to your laptop, PC or Mac, and also view them on a phone or tablet. They will be conveniently sized for online use (emails, social media and phones) If you would like any of the photos in high resolution (perhaps you would like prints), just let me know which ones and I'll transfer them straight over to you. There is no added cost for this. High resolution files are very big so cannot be sent over all at once.
- When do I get the photos?
This depends on the amount of photos but it usually takes one week.
- How can I make the payment?
In order to book you just pay a small deposit. The rest you pay by the day of the shoot. For deposits I can be paid in cash or by bank transfer.
- What happens at the photoshoot?
After your arrival, we'll have a quick chat to confirm what photo styles and ideas would best suit you, I usually start with some practice shots to give you a chance to relax and get comfortable. After this we move on to taking the actual shots.
- What if I'm not good at posing?
It is normal to feel a bit anxious. Many people worry they are not photogenic, or will not know how to pose. I have been doing photoshoots a long time and I will direct the shoot so that you get fantastic photos. I will give you tips and techniques that I have learned both in shoots and while performing on big stages. Learning to be yourself and feel comfortable whilst someone is taking photos is a skill, and just like other skills, it takes practice and familiarity with the process before you master it. But I am there for you on the day to help you with all of this.
- Where will your photoshoot take place?
Either at my studio or at a choice of location. This is your photo shoot so the choice of location is entirely up to you. I can photograph at a place that you enjoy and I am happy to shoot at a combination of locations.
- What about the weather?
If the weather is bad I am happy to postpone the shoot and reschedule it for a later date. Another option is to have a back-up indoor location.
- How long will our photoshoot last?
This depends on the package that you book. Portrait photography shoots are usually one hour, events could be all day.
- Will the photos be used anywhere?
Any photos we do are completely private, just for your use, and will not be used anywhere (including my website) without your permission. I completely respect you wanting to keep them private.
- Do you do shoots abroad?
Yes! I have traveled a lot around the world and am happy to do shoots abroad.
